Friends, what I am about to share with you has really touched my heart, and I want to help get the message out far and wide. It’s a story of love, loss, and heartache deeper than it would have had to be if justice and equality, not to mention simple compassion, had been practiced. I learned about it through Shelly Goldstein, one of our most awesome writers at the “10,000 Couples” web-mag. She plugs this project in our July issue.

If you will, I’d be grateful for your taking a few minutes to read about this documentary film project and, most important, to watch the video that explains it all. Then, if your heart is moved, please make a pledge. Shane and Linda need $300,000 in pledges by JULY 19 in order to make the film. You can pledge as little as a dollar, though I opted to give $50. Wish I could do much more. Hope you can help.

This message was in my email inbox this morning:

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your continued support! We have now passed over 1,000 backers and we are not far from reaching 50% of our goal.

Kickstarter fundraising campaigns tend to slow down around the halfway mark, so we ask that you please continue doing whatever you can to spread the word about Bridegroom. If we don’t reach our goal of $300,000 by Thursday July 19th, all of your pledges are returned, and we not only lose the opportunity to make this film, but we lose the opportunity to open people’s hearts and minds on this important human rights issue.

Sincerely,

Linda and Shane

Thanks, everyone.  ~Heidi

The publisher of the web-zine I write and edit for posted this as “Our Current Video Fav.” I just happened to check in at the site in time to catch it. WOW!

Is that not a tear-jerker — especially at the end when their hundreds of family and friends come in???

Here’s a video you MUST see. It speaks for itself.
