A Great Faith-Based Resource to Help Haiti

Are you anxious to help the earthquake victims in Haiti but not quite sure how to give? Red Cross? UNICEF? Etc., etc.? Certainly those two are magnificent organizations. But if you are looking for a unique, Christian-faith-based organization which has been on the ground in Haiti since the very beginning and which funnels 100 percent of our gifts to the earthquake victims, check out Lutheran Disaster Response to give through Lutheran Disaster Response, a vibrant ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). LDR did tremendous work after the 2004 tsunami, after Katrina, and after floods in my own region (Northwestern MN) in 1997 and, most recently, last spring. LDR staff and volunteers are among the first to arrive to any disaster site and are often the last to leave. I made my own donation to LDR just this morning. Please consider donating — either through LDR or through another worthy organization.
